Happy New Year Everyone. It's time to begin planning for the monthly meeting. What topics do you want to discuss? Are there topics on which you can lead and prepare a 15-minute presentation? Let's get started!

Upgrading from Joomla! 1.5

Scott plans to unveil Joomla! 2.5 at the meeting. I'm in the midst of an upgrade from J 1.5 to J 1.7 - and I'm sure others have questions on the process.

Come and bring your questions, URLs, etc. We can do some hands on in addition to general upgrade discussion.

In December, I worked on a test site trying to upgrade from 1.5 to 1.7 using JUpgrade and was not successful. I'm trying again this week, trying to go to 2.5, using the same component and getting the same error: It goes so far and then hangs up -- "migration undefined." Lots in the forums about this. Seems like a common issue, with no one answer.

I'm looking for another direction. Has anyone tried SP Upgrade? See extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migrati...omla-migration/15609

Look forward to discussion of 2.5.

Bob,

There's a new version of JUpgrade (2.5.0beata). Is that what you are trying to use? the latest version was posted on 1/19/12....

SP Upgrade doesn't say anything one way or the other about 2.5 on their website....Might want to check with them to see when they will support 2.5.

You may want to turn on Debug and see if you get some idea where it breaks...

No, I didn't see that. At JUpgrade's site, I see the latest stable version as 1.2.4. What's the URL for the latest?

This URL (extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migrati...omla-migration/15609() refers to 2.5 right off the bat.

Will try.
